About The Founder

Natea Kimbrough

I am a Christian wife and mother who spreads the love of Jesus Christ, showing the meaning of relationship versus religion. I operate in the gift of helping others. I have a passion for helping others in need on any degree and showing them that there is a bright side to every situation. I enjoy blogging, church events, hanging out with family and friends, trying to places to eat and traveling. I have served others since 2017 with an expertise in social work.
I am passionate about social work because I know what it’s like to not have something I need to live a fulfilled life. I know what it’s like to be bullied over something I couldn’t control. I was talked about for being overweight and having a big nose growing up. I was talked negatively about being “black” but speaking “white”. I know what it’s like to be taken advantaged of because I was looking for love in all the wrong places and didn’t know my worth. I know what it’s like to have low self-esteem because I did not have a good example of how I should be treated as a woman or how a man should treat me. I know what it’s like to be controlled and physically harmed, bleeding and scared for my life far away from support due to a domestically violent relationship. I know what it’s like to put your all into a relationship whether it’s family, a friend, or partner and not be appreciated or acknowledged. I know what it’s like to feel alone, misunderstood, and bouncing from house to house because you can’t figure life out. I know what it’s like trying to do it all on my own, only to realize that depending on God for everything would have made it all easier.
In regards to my experience & education, I am a graduate from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. Since graduation in 2017, I served as a Certified Nursing Assistant, while gaining experience from research and mentors in social work for about two years preparing myself for my career. In 2018, I served as a Youth Resident Support Worker in a foster care, teen group home, providing support to teens with a variety of mental illnesses, while promoting independence. I was offered my first official social work position as a Families First Worker in December 2019, providing intensive home-based crisis intervention including a variety of different skills, preventing out of home placement to families at risk of termination of their parental rights. In August 2021, I took a mental health break for about 6 months. In February 2022, I was offered a position through Community Mental Health as a Family Support Worker, assisting families in need of practical or emotional support as challenges would arise based on parenting and the wellbeing of the children. I provided respite care once or twice per week during their expected period of service. In July 2022, I was promoted to a full-time, Vocational Specialist position in a new department, assisting adults with developmental disabilities, find employment. In February 2024, I was promoted again to a Client Service Specialist position, assisting others with mental disabilities by writing reports, assisting with online and paper applications, and hosting interviews to best meet the individual needs to obtaining SSI/SSDI benefits.
